I work some odd hours, I would like to trade live but am not sure I will be around during your trading hours. Do you have any idea what time of day you will be trading?

@richard – it won’t matter what hours you work, you can trade 24 hours a day. Any email that’s sent will give you at least 48 hours on average to take advantage of an opportunity. If you check email one a day, you won’t miss anything. the program is designed for you to be able to comfortable miss 2-4 days a week without any problems. Trades are happening all the time, none of us can be there for them all

@Winston – you can register with any broker. The eToro deal is only for international (non-north-american) traders. All you need is the $50 registration fee & you’re ready to go.
[Reply]
May 30th, 2010 at 5:50 pm
If I live in North America and pay the $50 reg. fee for the bootcamp, I can use my account with ANY broker for the live trades and don’t have to open a live account with eToro, right?
Thanks.

I’ve already downloaded etoro and registered with them, but have not opened up an account yet! Not comfortable doing so after reading about them on the “Forex Peace Army Forum”.
Also, unfavorable comments on “FXCM” at same forum. Can you please respond on your recommending to open an $250.00 account with etoro and now to open an account of $200.00 with any broker I choose. Please advise?

@Tim – the ultra fine print on the eToro deal fell through for US & Canada. It’s still a good deal for international clients. Since there is no commission involved (the main reason for using eToro), if you live in the US, the choice of broker is up to you. Since the incentive that eToro provided doesn’t count for North America, just go with a broker you like. You may still pick eToro, but since you refer to fxcm, they are also good.

Brian, I already have a micro account with FXCM, what lot sizes should be used to follow your trades?

@Richard – Use the smallest lots. I think they’re $1K in a micro from fxcm. They have fractional pips, which are 1/10 of a pip. You’ll have to round off the last decimal place to follow the examples I’m sharing here.
[Reply]
May 30th, 2010 at 6:43 pm
Yeah the micro lots are $1k, thanks.

Is it ok to join the bootcamp even if I’ve not carefully studied the lessons I’ve received from you? Should I work hard to assimilate the 20 lessons and material from your website first?

I’m surprised eToro can’t offer the the same thing to US and Canadian clients as they offer to international clients. Seems like they screwed us. Brian would have brought them a lot of customers. Without the same offer this is no longer free and without all the brokerage accounts linked bootcamp members no longer get half of Brian’s profits. I’ll follow the archive thank you.

How many hour of each day for this trading/training live webinar?

It won’t be a webinar, it’ll be an instant messenger conversation. I’ll also be providing detailed reports of what to look for during sessions where we aren’t doing any instant messenging.

Brian,
At the end of your 5/30 email there’s a P.S. saying ‘If I received your valid registration before 8:00 pm EST,
on May 31st, 2010 you’ll still be under the original
(now international) LIVE bootcamp.’ Does that mean people living in the US/Canada will have the same deal as people from international, no registration fee and will be getting the bonus? Or does it mean something else?
Thank you.

@Yue – this means that people from US/Canada who had already funded an eToro account prior to that email being sent will have the INTERNATIONAL deal. It means they got lucky because I have to honor a deal that I posted. It means that the money comes out of my pocket. There were several people who this applied to, they’ll just be in the INTERNATIONAL bootcamp.

You can start with the Archive. The registration fee will probably be $100 after the bootcamp begins. I don’t intend to raise it again after that for awhile.

There are a lot of brokers out there. It would be interesting to take a survey of RF readers & see what their fav platform is. I’ll add this to my “good things to do on the blog” list. Thanks Doug!

@Peter – sure, that will work. Just stay within the 5% money management rule and you can use any leverage. I’ll be using 400:1, but by risking no more than 5% on a single trade (1% or 2% for certain types of trades) I’m capping my risk. There are two ways to reduce risk: 1.) reduce leverage 2.) reduce pip size risk per trade.

What charts do we need? Can they be used on a Linux/Ubuntu or Mac operating system, or is Microsoft Windows absolutely essential? I normally used Metatrader 4 which works just fine, but some other charts I’ve tried, as well as webinar software, I have trouble getting it to work.

I’ll be at work so I don’t know how I’ll manage attending a live trading bootcamp. Would the live trading benefit me at all when I pay the $50 registration fee (Canadian resident) as it appears that I will be missing the live trading should it coincide with my 8 to 4 job (Mountain Time). Don’t worry, working a day job is temporary.
Can I use Prime4x as my brokerage account??

Hey Brian,
I just read on the blog where you told someone that we would be making trades using etoro. So now I am confused. I want to go ahead and get my acct set up. I currently live in the USA. Is Etoro using FXCM or is that a seperate company all together. I want to use the same trading platform that you are using, I am new and being on the same page as you will cut down on my confusion. Awaiting your most urgent response.
Thanks.

@Deborah – FXCM & eToro are completely seperate. I actually use both FXCM & eToro. I’ll be using eToro for the $250 account & FXCM for my private account that does larger trades. It’s really not that big of a difference since all you’re using the broker for is to enter a trade & place stops/limits. The platform isn’t that important for what we’re doing (it’ll be important if you decide to become a full time day trader, but to learn the basics it really doesn’t matter).

If so, please send me the links that is required as a background (the 75 minute course that you referred to earlier) and anything else that you think might be a pre-requisite to start.
