Brian,
I can’t wait to start the bootcamp. I already have an account with another broker, but for this opportunity I’M DELIGHTED TO OPEN A NEW ETORO ACCOUNT for only $200. I’ve spent over $3,000 on forex training for a single 2 day seminar. 90 days with HALF of your profits is truly a no-brainer.
I’ve been ultra busy with work (high school history teacher), but now that I’m on summer break, this is exactly something that works for me.
Looking forward to the bootcamp, I’m going to register for my eToro account now. Look for my submission tonight.
Thanks Again,
Jeff Hopkins

Hi Brian,
After entering a username and password (from the link you provided) the 2nd step has you click on “From the USA…Click here” popup which then sends you to etoro website to choose a standard account of $250 – $999 range, then takes you to a webpage to enter your personal info. It’s requesting my social security number. Is this necessary, because I have no way of knowing who I’m really sending this to. Please advise. Thanks, Tim

@Tim – I know that eToro is a legitimate website. I understand your hestitation. Try submitting the form without your SSN and see if it works. Please let me know what happens and we’ll go from there. Of course this is an account where you’ll be doing financial transactions, and even the bank requires your SSN #. This is really between you & eToro, I am not collecting this info from you.

@John – For Forex Sailing, you can look at charts at whatever time of day. For Surfing & Swimming, we’ll be doing these in certain sessions. These sessions will be around the clock, so you may do either the 4 pm to 8 pm (if you can get out of work early) or 10 pm to 2 am EST session after taking a nap after work. It may not be the most convenient, but it will be worth doing to learn. We won’t be doing this every day, it’ll be on a pre-scheduled date.

@Deborah – we’ll be trading at various times of day. Forex Sailing doesn’t require any time of day as you have at least an entire day to make any trade. The sessions that we trade live in will be scheduled in advance. We’ll trade sessions that rotate around the clock. For instance:
On one day we may trade from 10 pm EST to 2 am EST
One the second day, we may trade from 8 am to 12 pm EST
One the third day, we may trade from 4 pm to 8 pm EST
Then we’d take a break. This isn’t the exact schedule, but it would work like this.
As far as your Internet connection, it needs to be highspeed. DSL works, but broadband would be better. As long as it’s reliable, you’ll be fine.
Also, if you opened your eToro account from clicking on the link in my post, then just funded it. If you didn’t click on my link, you’ll need to click on my link and create a second eToro account (use a different email address, get a free one from gmail if you don’t already have one).

@Tim–Your SSN is also your taxpayer ID. In order to trade in the US, your broker is required to have your taxpayer ID (SSN) so he can report your earnings.
@Brian–This raises another issue that is almost never discussed: How much are the profits from trading are taxed? (Of course, it varies from country-to-country). What if I end up negative for the year? Can I write this off somehow? Would proceeds from my trading account be taxed differently if it is a simple personal account versus a business, such as a limit liability company?

Boot Camp sounds good…..however from the session times I see its very EST biased. You seem to be trading New York and Asian sessions and onky a very small London session which is the best session. I appreciate your time zones but as I am at GMT plus 1 it seems a huge pity that you are missing the best 6 hours trading in the day.

@Mike – ALL SESSIONS WILL BE COVERED! We’ll be rotating through the different sessions on different days. I simply illustrated the example below for what I believed as a US person asking the question. It’s true that I think in EST having been raised in Philadelphia, which is two hours south of NY. I can assure you that the London session will have equal attention with the NY & Asian sessions. I haven’t released the schedule yet, but will do so with LIVE members with plenty of notice.

@Maks – that’s a great idea. Part of this bootcamp experience for me is to broaden my experience as well. I’m shifting from thinking only in terms of “US” to a more international outlook. This will require a bit of effort on my part, but posting times in GMT is a good idea as a world standard. I will make the shift and start thinking in these times. After all, I’m in the Hawaii timezone, which is very close to Australia’s & a lot further from NY.

@Sam – microlots can be traded with etoro. If you only have $200, it will rule out most sails. There are a few sails that could be possible using an advanced method of sailing that I’ll be teaching during the bootcamp. I recommend $200 because it allows more people to get started. In the $200 account, I’ll be following the rules. There are very few sails possible with a $200 account. For this reason, the account will have to do some successful “surfs” first, which will be taught in the first 2 weeks of the bootcamp.
If you can open an account with $500+, you’ll have an easier time sailing. With $500 not all sails are possible, but many will be.
I’m also trading in a much larger account where I can place ALL possible trades. This requires more capital. I’ll be posting these trades in the bootcamp, which will help people with enough capital for them.

@Mickal – I will be trading in two account. In the $200 account, I’ll follow the money management rules of only trading a max of 100 pips per trade until the account grows larger. This will rule out most sails, although a very small sail with an advanced method will be possible even with 100 pips. This account will require some surfing to grow from $200. In my larger account, I’ll be doing more Sailing. Since this account is much larger, I’ll be able to do any trade that I find.
$200 is a minimum just so people can get started. If you can open an account with $500+, you’ll have more opportunities to trade with, especially Sailing.

On safe site such as paypal for example their website will display their online security seal (Verisign Identity Protection)and will have https:// not just http on their address line. E-Toro should demonstrate the same to safeguard and protect interested clients from the ever increasing identity thefts. Is there any better secure way to open an account? Thanks!

thanks for your honest answer about the 200$ minimum account.
What would you suggest as the minimum account amount to be in order “afford” if not all, most of the FXsailing trades?
1k$, 2k$??
It uses quite wide stop loss.
Will the “eventual” profit-sharing on your 200$ account be proportioned to the commissions you receive from eToro based on the amounts each LIVE subscriber open is account with or it will be equally distributed among all LIVE subscribers?
Thanks

@Sam – $1K will allow you to do 85% of all trades. I haven’t ever seen a trade that can’t be done with a $2K balance. For anyone with less than $2K, they’ll just have to skip those trades.
As far as a “wide” stop loss, it’s still only 61.8% of the gain. As long as the reward/risk ratio > 100%, it’s a good trade. The problem with tighter stop-loss is that there is a HIGH probability that you get stopped out. It’s ALOT more difficult to have successful trades. Success is found in striking the balance between probablity & profitability. If we go for too much of one, the other always suffers. The goal is to maximize the two, which I believe this style of trading does.
The true test is to see where an account is after 30 trades. That’s what we’re doing in the bootcamp, following an account for 90 days making trades and seeing overall success. This will put the individual trade profits & losses into a larger context & teach people how to actually deal with trading in real life.
As far as my “gift” is concerned, what I’m doing is taking $200 of my own private account for each LIVE member & giving them HALF of the profits for the first 90 days (you won’t get a bill if there’s a loss
). So if my account makes 60%, the LIVE members will receive a 30% gift based on the $200 (in this case $60 because $200 * 30% = $60). The gift will be different for each member because the gift will be based on when the commission from you opening your account arrives in my trading account. As soon as this happens, it’ll be posted in the private area. In this sense it’s proportional. But if you open a $1K account, your gift will still be based on the $200, since my commission isn’t any higher if you open an account with more than $200. I get paid a flat rate, so it only makes sense to split HALF of the profits I make on $200 worth of my account.

@Cara–The governments want to be sure they get their share of your taxable winnings, and the brokers want to make sure they have details about you for proper reporting of your earnings to the government. So, if you maintain a bank account in the US as well as a contact address, you COULD open a trading account using your US based details. If you are a resident and/or have dual citizenship in another country, then you can also open another account in your country of residence using your personal details from that country. Please, you can now put me among those that are eligible to participate in the bootcamp. Looking forward to surfing and sailing with you. Thanks.

Brian, I have begun the ‘finagling’ process and with a bit of luck I should have an eToro account open within two days. Will let you know how it turns out. And while we’re on the subject, let me know if your commission comes in from eToro the way it’s supposed to. Thanks

Hi Brian!!! I appreciate all the effort and
hard work you are putting in to help us all
become better trader.
Last week I wanted to sign up for the Archive
90 Day Bootcamp. Every time I clicked where
I was supposed to click it would go back
to where I started. I even typed in on the
Free 20 part ecourse but no that was not the
place for me to sign in.
Anyway, I want to be put on the Archive 90
Day Bootcamp. You did say it would start
after the regular Bootcamp getting going.
Brian keep up the good work. There are those
that are grateful that you are there.
God Bless,

@Maria – If you’re really not comfortable opening a live account, then wait until you are. At the same time, if you have an extra $200 to start with it can help you learn faster. Even if you lose some money, it’ll stay more interesting for you than just trading in a demo account. You have to do what you feel comfortable with. If you follow the training of the bootcamp, you’ll feel comfortable within the next 90 days

Hi Brian, I am just starting to learn about forex trading and I have never taken any of your forex course before. Is it a good idea for me to join your 90 dat forex trading bootcamp at this point? Will I be able to follow? And how much is the total cost of the bootcamp? Is it only the $50 registration fee and $200 to open the live eToro account? Is there any other cost for the bootcamp/course? If I join the live bootcamp, will I be placing the exact same orders as you do them yourself on your live account and get to keep all profits I make on my own account, and in addition to your giving us live members half of your $200 account profit? Sorry for the many questions… there is too much information about the bootcamp and I’m a bit confused.

@John – I announced the times that I’ll be posting. I’ll explain again…
1. I post an analysis of what I’m looking for at the beginning of each trading session. As soon as I enter a trade, I post the numbers. When the trade closes, I post the results.
This analysis is there 15-25 minutes into the session. If you login at: 5:20 pm EST or 7:20 am EST you’ll get the analysis of what I’m looking for 90% of the time. If not, You’ll see a trade I just posted. This is LIVE because it’s being updated during a trade. I’m also trading, so it’s the best format to deliver information to you. If it were a streaming webcast (I’m thinking about this), it wouldn’t be possible for only $50. I’d need to charge at least $97 a month. I’ve been trying to keep the costs low for people to have access.
