My BEST Wealth Advice

A few times a year I reread the books that have inspired me the most. A few days ago I mentioned Think & Grow Rich in a blog post, but it’s not my favorite book…

A few days ago an old friend contacted me on facebook. I haven’t seen this guy since we graduated high school, but we were pretty good friends during school. He asked me an interesting question:

Dude how did u get started doing what u do?  I’m broke as fuck & ten years behind my demographic and stuck at a place I fear I could be at for the rest of my life, any advice u can give me would be greatly appreciated…thanx man…

This really made me think about what I could say to my old friend to really help him out. I thought about this really deeply for 24 hours and this is the EXACT message I sent him:

Thanks for asking….

How I got started was that I was studying stock trading while we were in High School. I got into Forex as soon as it became possible (in 1997 bright after we graduated)…only banks could do it before. I spent a few years messing around until I figured it out when I was in college studying math.

I was the third guy on the Internet to teach people how to trade currencies. I used to sell a $2,000 course, but had a creep of a business partner that screwed that up…live & learn…

That’s how I got into trading. I teach it on my website at: http://rapidforex.com/ if you wanted to know more about how to do what I do…

But perhaps what I do isn’t the plan for you…you asked for advice…Here’s my BEST advice that I hope you follow….Read this book: “The Science of Getting Rich

It’s the best book I’ve ever read. I read it & did what it said and it works! It’s probably different than anything you’ve read before, but it sounds like you could use something different.

The book was written 100 years ago, but it’s still the best of it’s kind. You can grab a copy at Borders for less than $15!  It’s totally worth it. Definitely let me know if you read that book.

Aloha, Brian

This is the advice that I gave a personal friend, but it’s also the best advice that I can give you. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles is the BEST book I’ve ever read on any topic. It opened my mind to thinking about money in a whole different way than anything I ever heard before.

Do yourself a favor & read a copy of The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles. I read it every 3-6 months. Not only will it help with your online forex trading, but it’ll help you in all areas of your personal financial situation.

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered The Science of Getting Rich from Amazon for Kindle. I’m in a similar situation to your friend: financially desperate because of the recession. Don’t worry, I’m still trading a demo account and trying to slowly build up a grubstake in a live account. So far your method works pretty well, so I hope to be LIVE with it in a few weeks or months.

    Thanks for all you’ve provided.

    All the best,

    Patrick

@Patrick – hang in there my friend. It took me at least 5 years of not giving up to get this stuff…hopefully I’ve helped reduce that time dramatically for you ;)

    Thanks again.

I’m going to suggest something in the same vein as the Wattles books. It’s called The Secret. Go to http:www.thesecret.tv to get it. Both the book and the movie are awesome! Worth every penny.

@Patrick – yes, The Secret is partly based on The Science of Getting Rich…it’s a modern version, but different.

I am quite puzzled. Yr old friend is down & out and needs money badly & urgently. Instead of teaching/mentoring him immediately to fish in forex for his daily expenses/pocket money, u are asking him to read a book & then figure out how to make money ? Currently he simply has no time to waste, as he is drowning in deep water. Do u not agree ?

@Stephen – first point: you’re missing the point, the book is the BEST advice I can give. second point: I told him about the website. I’ve tried to mentor personal friends before, they need to be interested in forex first…I’ve never been able to talk anyone into it. If he gets interested in forex, he’ll ask me for help ;)

Will you be elaborating on how you incorporated the lessons from the book into trading or your life? Or will you list specific parts from the book that shaped your path towards success?

Hello my friend Brian and all.

First I need to say that I have read the science of getting rich, and is one of the best book ever (and I read a lot). what I have learn from the book is just begining to work,it took some time for the science to work its way out from inside of me, and now Im able to change my enviroment, the images of poverty and disgrace are slowly disapearing.
you can grab a copy of the science for free, at the secret web page, or if you want I can send you guys a pdf copy via email.

    Brian,
I want to add to all the advice being given here.
Each one of us who have lost our job and are moving into forex trading will succeed much faster if they practice the method of total immersion. Become your own self zealot.
Provide a conversion experience for yourself. When you are buried in the center of what you are learning much more learning seen and unseen takes place. For instance while learning a foreign language it is the only thing that works quickly.
See in your minds eye making successful trades. Use affirmations to build into your psyche the new horizon you are moving quickly into – forex trading. Stay laser focused.
Affirmation:I am now knowledgeable, confident and functioning as a successful forex trader.
I think the biggest challenge people have learning forex is the temptation of wondering what you are missing and being jerked sideways by every pitch out there on the net.
STAY WITH ONE TEACHER put your blinders on and learn what is being taught. As soon as you can sign-up and go live with the teacher.

Another great book about making money is by a Jewish Rabbi, drawing from generations of Jewish Wisdom (As Rabbi Lapin points out – Jews ARE disproportionately good with money, and there’s a reason).

The Book is “Thou Shalt Prosper – The Ten Commandments of Making Money.”

Hi Brian, this post is absolutely critical to my situation. A friend of mine almost went bankrupt last year owing the banks around 20k USD. I myself are not any better than him with debt around 7k UDS. Recently I have consolidated all my debts into 1 bank and just pay it off every month. We have strong faith in your teachings and strongly believe your financial management rule. But at with situation, I have to be very careful with my finances. Thanks for your sharing so far.
